**Zair Montes** is an actress, producer, and writer who has written, produced, and starred in numerous film, television, and theater projects throughout her career across the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. She is the co-owner and Creative Director of the award-winning film production company Golden Ceiba Productions.
In 2014, she produced and starred in the American-Cuban drama *Habana Instant*, filmed on location in Cuba. The film received the Innovation Award and the Ecumenical Award at the 2015 Montreal World Film Festival. In 2016, she produced *Havana Darkness*, the first horror feature filmed between New York and Havana, and also produced and appeared in *Welcome to Acapulco*, starring William Baldwin, Paul Sorvino, and Michael Madsen.
In 2018, Montes appeared in the New York independent film *Respite*, earning the **Best Supporting Actress** award at the 2020 Golden Door International Film Festival. She later adapted her play *The Flowers* into a television series, which she wrote, produced, and starred in. Filmed in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the series premiered on Amazon Prime in 2020. That same year, she produced *How I Got There?*, starring Ron Perlman.
In 2021, Montes starred as the female lead and served as producer on *Rumba Love*, which received a theatrical and VOD release across North America before being licensed by Paramount/Showtime.
In 2022, she wrote, produced, and starred in the award-winning short film *The Other Side of Things*, which premiered as an Official Selection at Dances With Films and won **Best Short Film** at the Georgia Latino Film Festival.
In 2023, she wrote, produced, and starred in the Mexican feature *El Elixir del Amor*, earning the **Best Actress** award at the 2024 Georgia Latino Film Festival. She also appeared in the action thriller *6 Hours Away*, released in the United States in 2024, and in the American comedy *Doctor Doctor*, directed by Stevan Mraovitch and released in 2025.
She also produced the Cuban and Mexican units of Paramount's documentary series *Mafia Spies*, which premiered in 2024.
In 2026, Montes co-created, co-wrote, produced, and starred in the science fiction miniseries *The Code*. That same year, she served as line producer for the Mexican unit of *As Good as Dead 2*, starring Tom Berenger and Michael Jai White.
