Andrew Burrill is an American writer, producer, and performing arts professional whose work spans film, theatre, education, and public service. Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Virginia, he developed an early interest in storytelling shaped by the region’s deep historical landscape and a strong family legacy of military service.
Burrill studied performance, media, and arts leadership at the University of Virginia before earning his Master of Science in Performing Arts Leadership & Management from Shenandoah Conservatory. His academic background included mentorship from distinguished scholars and theatre-makers across writing, acting, directing, and dramaturgy.
In the entertainment industry, Burrill began his career in talent management and agency representation in Los Angeles, working with award-winning actors and industry veterans. He contributed to projects for clients including Bronson Pinchot, Annet Mahendru, Karly Rothenberg, Dan Castellaneta, Eric Roberts, and Hulk Hogan.
Burrill gained national recognition as the creator and Executive Producer of After Masks-one of only two feature films produced globally during the COVID-19 shutdown. He originated the film’s concept, assembled the cast, and guided the project through production. The film features performances by Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Mitchell Hoog, Debra Wilson, Robert Picardo, and Eric Roberts, with music contributions from multi-platinum A&R executive Jeff Blue. After Masks went on to win multiple awards at international film festivals.
In addition to his work in film and television, Burrill is an arts journalist and critic whose interviews and commentary have featured creators from major Broadway productions including Les Misérables and Miss Saigon. His writing has appeared in outlets such as The Huffington Post and BroadwayWorld.
Parallel to his artistic career, Burrill serves in the United States Army as a 92Y Unit Supply Specialist with the 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas. His service continues his family’s multigenerational military tradition and informs the leadership, discipline, and civic focus he brings to his creative work.
