Ammar Galal is an Egyptian film and television director, writer, and producer based in Dubai, recognized for his cinematic visual language and emotionally driven storytelling across narrative film, television, and branded entertainment. His work bridges independent cinema and commercial storytelling, often exploring identity, human tension, and contemporary culture through visually immersive narratives.
His projects have been officially selected, screened, and recognized at internationally acclaimed festivals including the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale), HollyShorts Film Festival, Sarajevo Film Festival, Cleveland International Film Festival, and Athens International Film & Video Festival. His co-produced short film Amplified (Sukoun) won the Grand Prize at HollyShorts, becoming Oscar-qualified.
Alongside his filmmaking career, Galal is an active creative leader and mentor within the regional film industry. He has served as a film educator, masterclass speaker, and jury member, supporting and mentoring emerging filmmakers and creatives across the Middle East and internationally, with appearances and collaborations spanning Dubai, Cairo, and London.
He is also the founder of one of the 1st UAE’s independent creative local community, focused on connecting and empowering talent across film, media, and the wider creative industry.
