Marcelo Lezama graduated from INCAA's Experimental Center for Filmmaking in 1988 with a degree in Film Directing. In 1991, he served as Second Unit Director for the series La Cápsula del Tiempo, which won the 1992 Martín Fierro Award for Best Cultural/Educational Program. From 1993 to 1994, he produced and directed episodes of the investigative journal TV show Edición Plus, earning a 1993 Martín Fierro nomination. Between 1994 and 2000, he directed promotions, campaigns, and commercials for Telefé Noticias. From 2001 to 2002, he was a Producer and Director of Ad Sales at Azul Televisión, and from 2002 to 2006, he served as Head of Promotions at Pramer SCA. From 2006 to 2007, he was On-Air Production Manager at Fox Latin America. From 2008 to October 2025, Lezama was Programming Manager for the cultural cable channel Film&Arts (AMC Networks Latin America), overseeing content acquisition, curation, and programming design. In 2008, he directed Revelaciones (8x30'), a TV series analyzing eight iconic Argentine paintings, nominated for the 2009 Fund TV Award for Best Artistic and Cultural Program. In 2013, he created the documentary Concierto para 4 Pianos, which won the 2013 ATVC Award for Best Documentary and the 2014 Fund TV Award. In 2014, his documentary Mozarteum 60 was nominated for a Martín Fierro Award for Best Documentary. In 2020, Lezama created and directed Breaking Music, an innovative Film&Arts original series blending live concerts, documentary, and fiction. The first episode, featuring German baritone Benjamin Appl, premiered in October 2020, followed by the second episode in April 2024, starring German violinist Carolin Widmann.
