Scottish actor Cameron Jack was born and raised in a working-class shipbuilding family in Partick, Glasgow, in 1972. In 1992, he was awarded the Margaret Rutherford scholarship to study acting at Mountview Theatre School in North London.
After graduating in 1995, he embarked on a diverse career, performing in a wide range of productions including West End musicals, low-budget British films, and Hollywood blockbusters. He gained recognition on screen during the mid to late 1990s with appearances in popular TV shows such as 'Taggart', 'The Bill', 'The Vanishing Man', and 'Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married'.
In 2011, Cameron landed his first feature film role in the final installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, 'The Dark Knight Rises', portraying one of Bane's henchmen. By 2013, he had roles in the BBC drama 'Waterloo Road' and three new TV sitcoms, including 'Man Down'.
In 2014, he appeared as Lewis Milton in the BBC series 'Silent Witness'.
The following year, he filmed the UK thriller 'Level Up' and the acclaimed sci-fi thriller 'What Happened to Monday', starring alongside Noomi Rapace, Glenn Close, and Willem Dafoe. In 2016, he featured in the films 'iBoy', 'Death Race: Beyond Anarchy', 'Perfect Skin', and 'Calibre', playing the role of Frank McClay. 'Calibre' achieved international success and won the Michael Powell Award for Best British Film at the 2018 Edinburgh International Film Festival.
In 2017, Jack took roles in the new BBC drama 'Trust Me', the international hit 'Outlander', and two BAFTA-winning dramas, 'Call The Midwife' and 'Patrick Melrose'.
He joined the cast of the long-running ITV drama 'Emmerdale' in March 2018 as Connor for 10 episodes, followed by filming the period drama 'Victoria' for ITV. He also appeared as Davy in the award-winning Glasgow-set short film 'Boys Night', which was nominated for Best Short Film at the 2019 Edinburgh International Film Festival and won Best Screenplay at the Elba Film Festival in Italy.
In 2018, he worked on 'Dragonheart: Vengeance', filmed in Bucharest, Romania, and in 2019 appeared in 'The Last Vermeer' with Claes Bang and Guy Pearce, shot in the UK and the Netherlands.
In 2020, Cameron worked in both LA and London, playing Brendan in the hit film 'Wrath of Man' directed by Guy Ritchie, and DS Paul Copley in the popular ITV police drama 'Unforgotten'.
During 2021 and 2022, he appeared in 'Casualty', 'Grantchester', 'Shetland', and the film 'Never Back Down: Revolt'.
In 2023, he filmed 'Masters of the Air', the new TV series 'The Chemistry of Death' and 'Rain Dogs', as well as the feature film 'Little Bone Lodge'.
That same year, Jack secured the iconic role of Sammael the Forsaken in Season 3 of Amazon Prime's hit series 'The Wheel of Time', and earned the series regular role of Gordon Spence in the BAFTA-nominated BBC drama 'Jamie Johnson FC'.
In 2025, he portrayed gangster Des Stuart in the BBC drama 'River City' and is currently filming the third series of 'Jamie Johnson FC'.
