Vicente Parra started his career in theater, joining companies such as those led by Luis Prendes and Amparo Rivelles, alongside minor film roles. He made his film debut in 1949 at age 18, thanks to Ramón Torrado, in the movie Rumbo. In 1956, he gained some recognition with Francisco Rovira Beleta's El expreso de Andalucía. His peak popularity came with Luis César Amadori's 1958 film "¿Dónde vas, Alfonso XII?", in which he portrayed King Alfonso XII of Spain. Two years later, he starred in the sequel, "¿Dónde vas, triste de ti?".
Subsequently, he returned to theater, founding his own company and taking part in productions like Jean Anouilh's Cita en Senlis (1963), Cara de plata (1967), Emilio Romero's Sólo Dios puede juzgarme (1969), Graham Greene's El amante complaciente (1969), and Hilo rojo, where he played Sigmund Freud.
In the early 1970s, he sought to shift his image from romantic lead to more complex roles, portraying a psychopath in Eloy de la Iglesia's La semana del asesino (1972). The following year, he collaborated again with the same director as both actor and producer in the thriller Nadie oyó gritar. Neither film achieved commercial success.
His work diversified over time, and in his later career, he appeared in the TV series Platos rotos (1985) and several plays including La jaula de las locas (1977), Isabelita la Miracielos (1978), Isabel, reina de corazones (1983), La barca sin pescador (1984), El cianuro, ¿solo o con leche? (1985), Los ladrones somos gente honrada (1985), La decente (1988), and La noche del sábado (1991). He also acted in films such as Suspiros de España (y Portugal) (1995) and Tranvía a la Malvarrosa (1997), both directed by José Luis García Sánchez.
