Shortly after graduating, Sean landed his first theatre role as the Cheshire Cat and Humpty Dumpty in Alice in Wonderland in Barnsley, England. He proudly earned his Equity card playing a cat and an egg!
He soon took on extensive audio drama work for the BBC and independent companies, including a recent role as Keith Horrobin in BBC Radio 4's long-running soap, The Archers.
Sean made his British television debut in Boon (1986) for Central Television, playing The Librarian in the episode "Bully Boys," featuring character actor Graham Stark, known for The Pink Panther films. His other TV credits include the British sci-fi series Jupiter Moon (1990), ITV children's favourite Woof! He voiced 30 characters across 13 episodes of the classic claymation series Rex the Runt (1991) in partnership with Studio Canal. He provided voices for 10 characters in the Oscar, Golden Globe, and BAFTA-nominated Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015) and voiced Hector the Head Llama in the Aardman/BBC Christmas special Shaun the Sheep: The Farmer's Llamas (2015). Sean also voiced all male prairie dog characters in the CBeebies series Little Prairie Dogs (2010), opposite Kate Sachs, daughter of Andrew Sachs. For the Oscar-winning BreakThru Films, he performed all voices—including a family of mice and a villainous cat—in the CGI animated short Papa's Boy (Isän poika) (2010), which was long-listed for an Oscar in 2012 but did not secure a nomination for Best Animated Short.
