Donny Carrington is a celebrated American actor, stunt performer, and producer known for his roles in acclaimed TV shows and blockbuster films such as Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War and Spider-Man: No Way Home, HBO's Emmy-winning Watchmen, and Universal Pictures' Furious 7.
This year, Carrington stars alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the upcoming Warner Bros. DC superhero film Black Adam, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. The story centers on Black Adam (Johnson), who, after being imprisoned for nearly 5,000 years, is released and ready to deliver his distinctive brand of justice in the modern world.
Upcoming projects for Carrington include the Antoine Fuqua-directed Apple TV+ film Emancipation, featuring Academy Award winner Will Smith; the A24 action epic Silver War, starring Kirsten Dunst and Wagner Moura (Narcos); and stunt doubling for Jesse Williams in Paramount Pictures' action film Secret Headquarters, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman.
A two-time SAG Award-winning stunt performer nominated for his work in Marvel's Avengers: Endgame and Black Panther, Carrington is among the few young African-American stunt actors making significant contributions to box office hits, participating in five of the top 15 highest-grossing films worldwide, totaling $11.5 billion globally.
He has also stunt-doubled for Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges in Furious 7, and Jessie T. Usher in Shaft. His film credits extend to Amazon Studios' Coming 2 America and The Tomorrow War, Sony Pictures' Baby Driver, DC's The Suicide Squad, Christopher Nolan's Tenet, Universal Pictures' Ride Along 2, and Ava DuVernay's Selma.
On television, Carrington appears as 911 dispatcher Antoine Banks on Fox's 9-1-1. He holds a significant recurring role as Red in Tyler Perry Studios' male exotic drama All the Queen's Men and portrays Officer Freddie Nelson in the dramedy Johnson. Previously, he starred as Arden in OWN's Ambitions, created by Will Packer and James Giddens, and as Gary Michael in the Bobbi Kristina biopic.
Carrington has guest-starred on CW's popular superhero and fantasy series DC's Black Lightning, The Originals, and The Vampire Diaries. His other TV credits include CBS's MacGyver, Marvel’s Luke Cage, Cloak & Dagger, Powers, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, FX's acclaimed comedy-drama Atlanta, and Starz's strip-club drama P-Valley.
Hailing from Louisville, Kentucky, Carrington is the son of Jaqueline Denise Carrington and Donny Rogers Carrington. He spent much of his youth in Jonesboro, Georgia, near Atlanta. His vibrant personality, charisma, athleticism, ambition, and passion for the performing arts set the stage for his future success. He honed his skills through participation in local youth programs, community theater, and sports.
Carrington’s career began in 2011 with stunt work in the indie sports drama Field of Vision while also gaining behind-the-scenes experience as a production assistant in television. This early exposure deepened his passion for acting and sparked an interest in producing and directing.
When not working on set, Carrington enjoys quality time with family and friends, traveling, sports, brand development, entrepreneurship, collaborating with filmmakers, and creating original content through his company Tobano Vision. He is also dedicated to supporting black-owned businesses and engaging in community service and peer mentoring.
Carrington currently makes his home in Atlanta, Georgia.
