David Ingram was born on March 27th in Bowmanville, Ontario, to Kathryn Fay Ingram and Roger Ingram, who encouraged his artistic talents from an early age. He spent much of his childhood at his drawing table, dedicating hours each day to drawing and painting. As he grew older, he began staging plays for neighborhood children, reenacting scenes from Star Wars, Superman, and James Bond. During high school, David increasingly focused on visual arts and gained acceptance into McMaster University's Fine Arts program. However, a last-minute decision led him to switch to the theatre program, where he graduated with Combined Honours in Theatre and Philosophy. After university, David moved to Toronto and secured his first television role in the sci-fi series Starhunter, followed by appearances in Doc, Queer As Folk, G-Spot, and Disney's Twitches. In 2005, he landed his first feature film role as Victor Ventura, the lead in the award-winning Canadian superhero fantasy Sidekick. In 2007, David relocated to Vancouver and soon earned a supporting role in the television feature Time & Again. He continued to obtain lead and co-starring roles in popular series such as Stargate, Supernatural, and Smallville. David's first series regular role came on the comedy Hiccups (Brent Butt's follow-up to Corner Gas), where he portrayed Taylor Rymes, a smarmy yet well-meaning literary agent. In 2010, he played a supporting role in the thriller Faces in the Crowd, a feature film by French director Julien Magnat starring Milla Jovovich. In 2012, David wrote and co-produced his first film, Ten Thousand Steps, also starring as the lead character—a heartbroken man who discovers he has only ten thousand steps left to live. Since then, he has appeared in Alcatraz, Almost Human, Cedar Cove, Rush, and Motive, and holds a recurring role as Macon Turner in Hallmark's Aurora Teagarden Mystery Movie Series opposite Candace Cameron Bure. More recently, David has appeared in Reign, Good Witch, and Designated Survivor, and will soon be seen in the feature Business Ethics as well as in a recurring role as Mr. Andrews in the highly anticipated CBC/Netflix series Anne, based on Anne of Green Gables. David currently resides in Toronto, Ontario.
