Roberto Malerba is a television producer and executive film producer. Born in Rome, Italy, he attended Ampleforth College in the UK before relocating to Los Angeles in 1994. He began his career as a production assistant on films in Italy in 1986, returning there after completing his education, and has accumulated 41 years of production experience. He is a member of both the Directors Guild of America (DGA) and the Producers Guild of America (PGA), where he received a nomination for Outstanding Producer for the streamed series Sense8 in 2018. Malerba has worked with renowned directors such as Martin Scorsese, Norman Jewison, William Friedkin, Steven Soderbergh, Terry Gilliam, Sam Mendes, Steve Zaillian, Angelina Jolie, and has had multiple collaborations with the Wachowskis. He specializes in international productions, particularly across Europe, having scouted and worked in 82 countries worldwide. His collaborations include projects with Warner Bros., Paramount, Amazon, Netflix, MGM, EON, TNT, MRC, and Miramax, handling budgets ranging from $10 million to $200 million. He established Sense8 at Netflix, overseeing production across five continents during its two-season run, with filming in 18 countries, including Germany, Italy, Scotland, England, Kenya, South Korea, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Brazil, Mexico, Iceland, Malta, Belgium, the Netherlands, and India. Represented by CAA, he divides his time between Los Angeles and Rome, Italy.
