Mark Fite is an American actor and comedian from the Midwest, born in Illinois and raised primarily in Iowa. His family background includes feed salesmen, coal miners, farmers, and musicians of mostly English, Scottish, and Irish heritage from central Illinois. Fite earned a B.A. in Communications and Theatre Arts from the University of Iowa before relocating to Los Angeles after graduation. In L.A., he has collaborated with renowned theatre companies like The Actors' Gang, Theater of NOTE, and The Padua Hills Playwrights' Festival, performing works by celebrated playwrights Murray Mednick, Marlane Meyer, and John Steppling. In 2009, he starred in the world premiere comedy Matthew Modine Saves The Alpacas at the Geffen Playhouse alongside Matthew Modine, Peri Gilpin, and French Stewart. In 2016, Fite appeared as a quirky "surfer dude" with the L.A. Philharmonic Orchestra at Walt Disney Concert Hall during a production of La Mer, part of the L.A. Philharmonic's Symphonies For Youth series.
As a founding member of the Los Angeles comedy group 2 Headed Dog, Fite is known for absurd characters and original sketches. The group has performed nationwide and at local venues such as The Comedy Store, The Improv, The Ice House, Upright Citizens Brigade, The Comedy Festival in Las Vegas, The U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Los Angeles Micro-Fest, The San Francisco Comedy Festival, and Tenacious D's Festival Supreme in 2015. They have held long-term residencies at Largo, Theatre Theater, and The Steve Allen Theater. Jason Weisberger of Boing Boing described them as "brilliant, accomplished actors" and "an unstoppable absurdist force." Fite has also originated roles in popular L.A. comedy shows including Bob's Holiday Office Party, The Rudy Casoni Show, Girly Magazine Party, and Clowntown City Limits. He has frequently performed at Lucha VaVoom, Brookledge Follies, and the Magic Castle. Since 2018, Fite has held a residency at Hollywood's Three Clubs playing Tony Martini, a struggling lounge comic who gathers a star-studded cast for one last chance at success.

In 2016, Fite earned a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the Berlin Film Festival International for his role in the independent film The Lost One. In 2023, he appeared in The Big Whoop, a feature adapted from the 2 Headed Dog stage production Clowntown City Limits. In 2024, he was cast in the independent feature No Small Sacrifice and won Best Actor at The Block Island Film Festival in 2025.
