From 1976 to 1989, Lisa Dalton worked extensively in New York across theatre, film, and television. In 1976, she co-founded the Bond Street Theatre, which remains active today. There, her talents as a clown, mime, and stage combat artist led to performances at Lincoln Center and various international festivals. This experience laid the foundation for a decade-long career in stunts under her original name, Lisa Loving. Notable TV credits include doubling Madonna on Saturday Night Live and portraying Zena, a hitwoman on As the World Turns, working with David McCallum. During the 1980s, Lisa served as a sergeant in the Englewood, N.J., Special Police Unit under her married name Kerman. Her stunt work also includes credits on Highlander, Ghostbusters, and Deathwish 3. She was featured on TV programs such as Best Talk in Town and PM Magazine, and appeared on several talk shows, including as a guest with Bill Boggs on Midday Live. As a comedienne and impersonator, Lisa performed at numerous celebrity events with figures like Donald Trump, Mayor Ed Koch, Joan Lunden, and venues such as the Friar's Club, Tavern on the Green, Copacabana, and Studio 54. In 1988, Lisa and her actor husband Ken Kerman moved to Los Angeles, where she founded the Michael Chekhov Connection (www.chekhov.net), teaching acting in cities including London, Moscow, Berlin, New York, France, Brussels, and across the U.S. at special conferences. Two documentaries featuring extensive contributions by Lisa on the Chekhov technique are available on her website. She has received multiple awards for directing and producing public access television, including three Hometown Awards, and was a finalist in the AFI National Video Festival. She directed several short films, including the Houston Festival Bronze Winner "Birds of a Feather" and the 2003 Dreamworks Employee Film Fest favorite "The Shakespeare Guy." Currently, she acts and teaches in the Los Angeles area and at universities and festivals worldwide. An ordained minister, she also runs a holistic life coaching practice that incorporates spiritual gestures—a technique that unites body, mind, and spirit to enhance health, time, space, and relationships. Lisa is a proud grandmother of four, plays celebrity golf for various charities, and has traveled all 50 states on her motorcycle.
