Veteran screen actor Michael Gordin Shore has spent decades working across some of the biggest film and television productions shooting in North America. With a career that moves effortlessly between comedy, drama, thrillers, and animation, his credits run from the cult comedy classic White Chicks to the PBS Kids series Work It Out Wombats!.
Television audiences have also seen him on the global hit legal drama Suits trading barbs with series star Patrick J. Adams, and in the acclaimed limited series Five Days at Memorial from Emmy-winning creators John Ridley and Carlton Cuse.
More recently, Shore shared the screen with Oscar-nominated actor Sebastian Stan in The Apprentice, brought his comedic chops to FX’s breakout Gen Z comedy Adults, and joined the cast of the thriller 56 Days, which shot to the top of the charts on Amazon Prime Video.
Michael Gordin Shore was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, and has been acting since he was five. A former gifted child, he joined Mensa when he was 14 and graduated high school at 15. He is the great-great-grandson of prolific New York playwright Jacob Gordin, and the fifth consecutive generation of his family to devote their lives to the performing arts. After graduating from the Professional Theatre program at John Abbott College in Montreal, Michael furthered his acting training at Simon Fraser University’s School for the Contemporary Arts in British Columbia. He built the foundation of his film and television career in Vancouver playing roles in Stargate SG-1, The Dead Zone, Psych, Postal, and others before he moved to Toronto, where he is now based.
When Michael is not in front of the camera, he is helping other actors as " One of Canada’s Top Audition coaches" and "One of Canada’s Most Appreciated Acting Teachers". With over 50 years of acting training and real world experience on stage and on camera, he is also an award winning short film director, and co-producer of a multiple award winning independent feature.
You’ve seen Michael’s coaching clients in numerous projects. Michael coached Simu Liu to roles in Orphan Black, Taken, Kim’s Convenience, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, just to name a few. Michael has helped actors book leads and supporting leads in From, Umbrella Academy, Children Ruin Everything, People of Earth, Blood and Water, The Magic School Bus Rides Again, and many others.
Through his decades long coaching career he has helped thousands of actors young and old take their careers to the next level on shows like Law and Order SVU, Law and Order Toronto, Chicago Fire, Shazam, Sneakerella, Hudson and Rex, Titans, American Gods, Polar, Salvation, Anne with an E, Handmaid’s Tale, Workin’ Moms, Odd Squad, Degrassi: Next Class and countless others, and has coached dancers and teams of dancers onto America’s Best Dance Crew and Canada’s Got Talent. Michael has also been invited to teach a Master’s Class in Audition Technique at the Toronto ACTRA Conference and has been a judge for the Canadian Screen Awards.
