Leanette Bailey is an American Voiceover-Actress, singer, producer, writer, educator, director from Michigan. Whose career spans more than 30 years in Film/TV, Commercial, Voice, Improv, Music, and Theater.
Starting in high school shows and dance in The Sound of Music and South Pacific she found her way to college theater, in her first production and monologues, that earned her tremendous peer feedback about her acting ability. "Get some film training and get an agent!" -- soon performing local shows like 'Play On!', 'Anybody for Tea?' and 'The Hobbit'. Before signing with her first major agent to appear in a sports commercial where she was well on her way, toward film production and essentially television.
She later signed with an agency to do print and glamour modeling while becoming Co-Founder /Board with Five & Dime Productions as Creative Producer-Director and Recurring, for the award-winning series You've Got to Be Kidding Me America (2009). Additionally writing and producing film-noir TV special Clue-less (2009) in the mix while acting in numerous Indie, student, Shorts, and stage roles of versatility and depth that earned her several film festival awards including Best Supporting Actress Lord Justice: Tales of a Fallen Superhero (2010), A Family Portrait (1998) alongside various accolades like 'Outstanding Comedic Performance' and 'Excellence in Theater' Nunsense II: The Second Coming (2009), The Importance of Being Earnest (2017), Wilde Tales Re-Told (2011).
Most recently she did a national commercial for Stryker Medical Group and served as Production Assistant with Foot'n Ya Mouth! - Live from GR (2023) Improv troupe, performing comedy sketches alongside singing 'Duets' and 'Greatest Hits' which showcased her vocal versatility. While getting published in Revue and Grand Rapids Magazine. Enjoying a lifetime of versatile performances that include Dog Story Theater, Master Arts Company, Grand Valley Film & Media, and Compass Film & Media.
She's turned her attentions lately to song, stage, and screenwriting, and the occasional audio-book recording and commercial ads. Shooting a screen role as time and opportunities permit.
She has a BS in Management from Cornerstone University. Has worked with A.P. Theatrical in Holland MI, Actors Theater, The Detroit Metro Players, and the renowned Opera Grand Rapids. Trained intensively in Film/TV and Theater studies with Fubble Entertainment, Master Arts Company, and the distinguished Actors Theater. Signing with New Faces Global Talent as an Acting Instructor and Board member. Later The iGroup, Babes and Beaus, and Wink Talent.
Whether in front of the camera or behind the mic, she continues to captivate audiences with her authenticity, passion, and dedication to her craft.
