Jyoti Deshpande is one of India’s leading media and entertainment executives, with over three decades of experience across film, television, streaming, and digital media. As President of the Media & Content Business at Reliance Industries Limited, she leads Jio Studios, India’s foremost content studio, which she built from inception into a dominant disruptive force to tell powerful stories across theatrical and digital entertainment. Under her leadership, Jio Studios has delivered some of the biggest successes in Indian cinema, led by the era-defining Dhurandhar duology, which has grossed over INR 3,000 crores/$330 million worldwide, with Dhurandhar The Revenge ranking among the world’s top-grossing films of 2026. The studio’s slate also includes major theatrical and streaming successes such as Stree 2, Shaitaan, Article 370, Singham Again, Mrs. and Laapataa Ladies, India’s official entry to the Academy Awards 2025. Associated with more than 1,000 films across her career, just in the last 8 years, Jyoti has produced more than 200 films and series across multiple Indian languages, with Jio Studios becoming the first studio in India to deliver the country’s highest-grossing Hindi film for three consecutive years. Her work has been instrumental in driving the global expansion of Indian entertainment and strengthening India’s position as a major content powerhouse under her vision of "From India to the world". Previously, Jyoti served as CEO of Viacom18, becoming the first and only woman to lead one of India’s major media conglomerates. She holds board positions across leading media, music, and entertainment companies, and has played an influential role in shaping India’s evolving media landscape through industry advocacy and policy initiatives.
