Byron Quiros is a Costa Rican-American, award-winning actor, movement director, and interdisciplinary artist. A graduate of the prestigious drama and dance conservatory at the University of California, Irvine, he has built a dynamic career spanning film, television, and stage-consistently working and sought after for his innovative performances and command of physical storytelling.
He appeared in Star Trek: Picard, performing in full prosthetic makeup opposite Jonathan Frakes, and shared the screen with Rob Lowe on 9-1-1: Lone Star. His film work includes the Sundance-selected Hot Seat and the internationally recognized Coronado, where he starred opposite John Rhys-Davies as General Rafael, earning international acclaim. Additional television credits include General Hospital, CSI: Miami, Medium, JAG, and Smothered.
On stage, Byron performed in the Tony Award-winning Take Me Out at the Geffen Playhouse alongside Jeremy Sisto, Jeffrey Nordling, and Carmen Argenziano. His portrayal of Juan Julián in Anna in the Tropics garnered strong critical praise. He received the Los Angeles Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Actor for his bold, interdisciplinary interpretation of Samuel Gardner in Spoon River Anthology, fusing movement, vocal composition, and visceral character work into a signature performance style. He also earned recognition for his work in Short Eyes and brought his classical training to A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which toured underrepresented schools following its run at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre.
A master of movement and embodiment, Byron was mentored by legendary choreographer Donald McKayle and has collaborated with Grammy-winning artists including Usher, Sheila E., Ana Bárbara, Craig David, and Mariana Seoane. He is the creator of Red Relevé, a distinctive fusion of ballet and modern burlesque, and is a highly in-demand movement director and embodiment consultant, partnering with actors and filmmakers to elevate physical performance and deepen character presence.
