Tiana Melvina is an award-winning filmmaker, director, producer, actress, and stunt performer whose work lives at the intersection of physical storytelling, psychological depth, and genre-driven myth-making. Born in Washington, D.C., Melvina’s creative foundation was forged through movement, discipline, and artistic rigor long before she ever stepped behind the camera.
In 2021, while working on the set of The Wonder Years, Melvina was encouraged to formally train as a stunt performer, launching a parallel career that sharpened her visual language and command of physical storytelling. She is trained in equestrian stunts, falls, and close-combat fighting, and is SSI Open Water certified. Her stunt credits include The Wonder Years, The Color Purple, Doom Patrol, and Stranger Things, to name a few .
Before and alongside her stunt career, Melvina has pursued acting and voiceover work since 2016, narrating and producing audio-books, appearing in radio commercial campaigns, and performing in web series, theater, and on-camera roles. This multifaceted experience allows her to direct with rare empathy for performers and a deep understanding of how bodies, voices, and silence carry story.
As a filmmaker, Melvina is the creator and architect of the supernatural thriller universe Eighteen Twenty One, an evolving witch-series spanning episodic and feature formats, including Legend Of The Witches. Her work explores folklore, moral consequence, generational power, and the unseen forces that shape identity and choice. Her latest documentary Rooted by Life: The Mind That Healed marks a bold expansion of her voice, examining healing, belief, and accountability through an intimate, human lens.
Outside of filmmaking, Melvina practices painting as a form of art therapy and is a passionate advocate for mental health awareness. Whether on set, in post-production, or developing her next project, she brings a singular blend of discipline, vulnerability, and vision to everything she creates.
