Biographie
Shawna Welsh was born in Richmond, BC, Canada, to John Welsh, an RCMP officer from Ottawa, ON, and Sherry, a Chief Investigator from Vancouver, BC. She has a brother named Thomas. Due to her father's job, the family frequently relocated before eventually settling in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Her parents divorced when she was 14.
Her heritage includes Irish, Scottish, and Danish roots from her mother, and Russian and Welsh ancestry from her father. While in school, she participated in a career advancement program, joining the Canadian Military and completing basic training.
From a young age, Shawna was passionate about acting, performing in numerous school plays and dinner theatre productions. It wasn't until adulthood that she actively pursued a career in film, landing a role in 2011 as a bubbly, naive actress in the web series "The Actress Diaries." Since then, she has appeared in various independent feature films, short films, and web series, and has produced her own series, "cLosers."
Over the past three years, Shawna has trained with acting coaches Matthew Harrison, Jeb Beach, and Neil Schell. She attributes much of her ambition, focus, and determination to her background as a competitive gymnast. Shawna is a strong supporter of the charity Love146, which works to end child trafficking and exploitation through prevention and survivor care, and she hopes to use her voice in the future to raise awareness and make a greater impact.
