Biographie
Mark Saul, born Mark Adam Saul on June 20, 1985, in the West Hills area of Los Angeles, California, is best recognized for his roles in All That (1994), Grey's Anatomy (2005), The Social Network (2010), and Parks and Recreation (2009). He hails from a family of Eastern European heritage. Saul began his career in musical theater, showcasing his talents in singing, dancing, and acting, and earned first place at a Shakespeare Festival Competition. At age 10, he won a writing contest organized by the California Writers' Club San Fernando Valley Branch.
Saul's breakthrough came when he starred in Nickelodeon's All That (1994), marking his first television series. He joined the cast as a featured player in 1998 alongside Nick Cannon. His most notable sketch was Stuart, a character who pretended to be various personas, known for the catchphrase: "Well, if I was _________, I'd be the greatest _______ in all the land, and people will gather 'round and say, 'Oh Stuart, you're the greatest _________ EVER! Now there's only one thing left to do. Let me hop on my _____, and fly away.'" During auditions, he performed a male take on the Ask Ashley segment, and in one episode, Stuart even took over Ask Ashley, dressing in women's clothing. Saul was upgraded to contract status in season six and remained until the show's Golden Era ended in 2000. He also appeared in the 10th Anniversary Reunion Special, although without dialogue.
Like many Nickelodeon stars of that era, Saul competed on the game show Figure It Out (1997), mainly in its final season titled Figure It Out: Wild Style, where he was known for asking humorous and offbeat questions.
After his time on the show, Saul continued his education at El Camino Real High School in the San Fernando Valley, actively participating in the Thespians Club and Drama class. He served as president of the Comedy Sportz League at his school. Saul played the lead role in the high school film project Passing Moments, which premiered on May 24, 2003, exclusively in the Los Angeles area. Concurrently, he founded the rock band Another Man's Trash, whose video for "Such a Fantasy" aired on VH1. He later earned a Bachelor's degree in Screenwriting from California State University, Northridge.
Between 2007 and 2012, Saul portrayed Steve Mostow, an intern at Seattle Grace Hospital, on Grey's Anatomy (2005). Over the years, he has appeared in numerous national commercials. When not filming, Saul creates artwork for his Etsy shop, Novel Brand, writes and performs with his sketch comedy group Rat Pageant, and plays in the folk/rock band The Flashcards. He currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
