Biographie
Michael Daingerfield is a versatile performer, writer, and producer whose talents have made a lasting impact on the entertainment industry. With a career spanning over thirty years, Michael’s adaptability and commitment have earned him respect across film, television, voice-over work, and voice-over education.
Initially passionate about competitive tennis, Michael was nationally ranked in Canada and earned a four-year tennis scholarship to Murray State University, an NCAA Division I school in Kentucky. It was at Murray State that he discovered his true calling: performing. After college, Michael began performing stand-up comedy at venues such as Yuk Yuk’s, The LA Improv, The Laugh Factory, and the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in 1999.
As a master impressionist and voice actor, Michael has portrayed some of the world’s biggest stars, including Jim Carrey as Ace Ventura in the Ace Ventura Animated Series on CBS, Harrison Ford as Han Solo in Lego Star Wars on Disney, and Chris Evans as Captain America in Marvel Superhero Adventures on Disney. He has lent his voice to prominent animated TV series and feature films like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (‘Braeburn’), Ninjago (‘Krux/Dr. Saunders’), Krypto The Superdog (‘Superman’), and Sausage Party alongside Seth Rogen, Bill Hader, and Edward Norton. Michael’s voice is heard globally in commercials, documentaries, and network promos. Currently, he voices brands such as Vicks, Travelers Insurance, Frontdoor, Northern Trust, Jensen Jewellers, Credelio Plus, and Honda. He narrates Rust Valley Restorers Season 5 (History/Netflix), Top Ten Weather Disasters (The Weather Channel), and Mayday Air Disasters (The Weather Channel). Recently, he was the promo voice for Doom Patrol on HBO Max, as well as 80's Top Ten and Shark Tank on National Geographic. In video games, Michael is known for his role as the main zombie in the Plants vs. Zombies franchise, and appearances in Dead Rising 3 and Need for Speed. In anime, he is recognized for voicing Gintoki Sakata in Gintama, which featured a theatrical release titled Gintama: The Final.
On camera, Michael has acted alongside stars such as Morgan Freeman in Dreamcatcher; Billy Crystal, Seth MacFarlane, Julie Andrews, and Dwayne Johnson in Tooth Fairy; Tom Welling in Smallville; Halle Berry and Benjamin Bratt in Catwoman; Stephen Amell in Arrow; Kristen Stewart and Dylan McDermott in The Messengers; and portrayed Bill Haley in the NBC movie Mr. Rock N Roll: The Alan Freed Story.
Michael is also the founder and co-director of On The Mic Training, the only government-accredited voice-over school in the English-speaking world offering a six-month full-time diploma program along with multi-level part-time courses, with campuses in Vancouver and Toronto. (onthemictraining.com)
He has received four Leo Award nominations: Best Voice (2016), On-Camera (2006, 2011), and Screenwriting (2006), as well as two UBCP/ACTRA Award nominations for Best Voice (2015, 2018).
