Biographie
Bulent Polat was born on March 8, 1980, in Tunceli, Turkey. In 1987, he relocated to Istanbul after his brother was admitted to the University of Istanbul's Law School. He completed his elementary, secondary, high school, and art school education in Istanbul. In 1992, he began volunteering as an usher at Bakirkoy Municipality Theater (BBT), where the stage director soon cast him in children's plays. His first acting role was as 'Sokak Kedisi' (Street Cat) in 1993, a performance that led to further roles in children's theater, including 'Ormanlarin Baris Atesi' (Forest's Peace Fire) that same year. Demonstrating talent and dedication, he was soon invited to perform in adult plays professionally, debuting in 'Ayy Hitler' in 1995. Following this, he joined Maltepe Art Theater (MST), taking leading roles in 'Yesil Dunya' (Green World), 'Masal' (Fairy Tale), and 'Beyaz Cehennem' (White Hell).
In 1999, Polat returned to BBT as Assistant Director for the play 'Keloglan.' He then acted in 'Rumuz Goncagul,' considered one of Turkey's finest theater productions. Around this time, a major television channel cast him in the series 'Yilan Hikayesi.' As television gained popularity over theater, this exposure brought him numerous offers from theater companies. Among these was a significant role at Sadri Alisik Theater (SKM) in 'Herkesin Gozu Onunde' (In Front of Everyone's Eyes), directed by Cannes Film Festival award-winner Orhan Oguz. He also starred in the leading role of 'Efsaneler' (Legends) with the same company. Concurrently, he appeared in TV shows and series such as 'Dadi' (Nanny), 'Lahmacun ve Pizza,' 'Estagfurullah Yokusu,' and most notably 'Avrupa Yakasi,' Turkey's most popular series and a pivotal point in his career.
While balancing stage and television work, Polat studied the Stella Adler technique for several years, aiming to elevate his acting to an international level. His aspirations were realized when he was accepted into the Stella Adler Acting School in Los Angeles in 2008. After graduating, he moved to New York City to pursue a career as an international actor.
