Biographie
Paola Bontempi is a highly adaptable actress and TV presenter, fluent in English and Spanish. She trained at prestigious acting schools in London, Los Angeles, and Madrid.
With Italian, German, Chilean, and Spanish roots, Paola was raised on Tenerife, a Spanish island. From a young age, she was passionate about the performing arts, studying at the University of La Laguna in Tenerife and later attending Harvard University. Her enthusiasm took her to London, where she earned honors degrees in Theatre Arts from the London Academy of Performing Arts and The Guildford School of Acting. She further developed her skills in film and television at UCLA in Los Angeles.
Paola launched her professional career in Los Angeles, starring in lead roles in theatre productions in both English and Spanish. She also gained experience in voiceover work, TV commercials, and made her film debut. After Los Angeles, she moved to Madrid to continue her work in film, television, and theatre.
Among her most notable film roles is the feature thriller The Glass Coffin, which has received critical acclaim at international festivals. Paola’s portrayal of the film’s sole character, set entirely inside a limousine, earned her multiple Best Actress awards at the Athens Horrorant Film Festival, Utah’s FilmQuest, and South Africa’s Horrorfest, along with a nomination at the Nola Film Fest.
Her film credits also include In the Trap, directed by Alessio Liguori, and short films such as Mask of Sanity and The End of All Things, for which she won Best Actress awards at the Queens World Film Festival and Bilbao’s FANT festival, respectively.
Earlier in her career, she appeared in Oscar, The Color of Destiny, acting alongside renowned talents like Joaquim de Almeida, Victoria Abril, Emma Suárez, and Jorge Perugorría. Her performance in this film earned her national acclaim and positive reviews.
On television, Paola has featured in popular series including the comedy La Que Se Avecina, Nacho, Mercado Central, and Guante Blanco. In the UK, she portrayed Catherine of Aragon in the BBC drama Six Wives with Lucy Worsley.
