Biographie
Robert Biheller was a seasoned actor and writer with a 60-year career in Hollywood film and television. Born on May 28, 1938, in Los Angeles, California, Bob began his acting journey in 1955 at age 17 with a role on the long-running TV series Gunsmoke. He went on to appear in numerous iconic television shows, including Bonanza, The Fugitive, Combat!, 12 O'Clock High, Batman, Route 66, and The Twilight Zone.
In 1968, he secured the recurring role of "Corky" on the popular series Here Come the Brides, alongside Robert Brown, David Soul, Bobby Sherman, Mark Leonard, Bridget Hanley, and Joan Blondell.
Bob also appeared in feature films such as The Last Innocent Man with Ed Harris, Fire in the Sky, Young Fury, and Madigan with Richard Widmark and Henry Fonda.
Although he enjoyed acting, Bob’s true passion was writing. He wrote scripts for television shows including CHiPs, Charlie’s Angels, Bonanza (story), and The Astronaut (1972), a TV movie starring Jackie Cooper, Monte Markham, Robert Lansing, and Richard Anderson.
In 1984, seeking a quieter life away from Hollywood’s hustle, Bob moved to Vancouver, Washington, where he met and partnered with northwest filmmaker Michael Williams. Together, in 1985, they founded ScreenWrights, a commercial and industrial production company. Through ScreenWrights, Bob wrote and produced projects for clients such as O’ryan Industries, Morihara International Education Films (creating a feature-length educational series for the Japanese market), Izzy’s Pizza, and C-Tran, Vancouver’s public transit system. Their work earned recognition from the International Association of Business Communicators and the American Public Transportation Association.
In 1986, while filming The Last Innocent Man in Portland, Oregon—based on a novel by bestselling legal thriller author Phillip Margolin—Bob met Phillip. The two formed a friendship and later collaborated with Michael Williams to adapt one of Margolin’s early novels, Heartstone, an Edgar Award nominee.
Sadly, this talented and energetic man passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015, in Vancouver, Washington, at the age of 76.
