Biographie
Travis Aaron Wade was born on September 27, 1975, in Los Angeles, California. His mother, Daphne Royle Maddison, hails from Manchester, England, while his father, Dennis Wade, is from Rosemead, California. The family later relocated to Glendora, California, where Travis attended Charter Oak High School in Covina. He excelled in various sports and served as captain of the football team during his senior year.
Following high school, a trip to Tijuana, Mexico, profoundly impacted Travis, inspiring him to contribute positively. Upon his return, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1997.
Back home, encouraged by his mother, Travis began taking acting classes. Finding the experience therapeutic, he decided to return to school, enrolling at Citrus College to study criminal law and theater.
In 2005, Travis landed a role in Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds. That same year, he secured a lead part in The Fix, portraying the son of an ex-boxer, played by Robert Patrick, who pushes his son to achieve the championship he never attained. Directed by Adam Kane, The Fix won Best Drama at the 2006 L.A. Shorts Festival. During filming of the final boxing scene, a former World Champion kick-boxer accidentally broke Travis's nose and dislocated his finger.
In 2007, Travis portrayed John Hickman in the cult film Pig Hunt. This led to guest roles in popular TV shows including The Closer (2009), Criminal Minds (2009), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2011), Alcatraz (2012), Rizzoli & Isles (2012), NCIS: Los Angeles (2012), and Supernatural (2014).
Travis also appeared alongside John Travolta in two films: The Forger (2014), which featured Christopher Plummer, Tye Sheridan, and Abigail Spencer, and Criminal Activities (2015), directed by Jackie Earle Haley.
Looking ahead, Travis continues to advance his career with the role of Lieutenant Allison in the forthcoming film The Last Full Measure, starring William Hurt, Ed Harris, Sebastian Stan, and Samuel L. Jackson.
Driven by his passion for animals, Travis and his business partners founded Arm The Animals in 2010, a charitable T-shirt company that donates a portion of its proceeds to help animals in need. In 2014, he co-produced Extinction Soup, a documentary highlighting the decline of shark populations.
In 2010, Travis heroically rescued 72-year-old Roslyn Bush from a burning, overturned vehicle, earning him a Local Hero Medal from the City of Los Angeles.
In 2018, Travis collaborated with Swyck Labs to develop the timed wick, an innovative candle design expected to save lives worldwide by 2019.
Since 2008, Travis has been teaching the arts and mentoring children and young adults in Vietnam. Several of his students have gone on to compete in Miss Universe and Miss World pageants, with Travis personally coaching them to achieve significant success both in competitions and in life.
