Biographie
Gary J. Tunnicliffe has been active in the film industry since 1990, specializing in designing and creating special makeup effects. He has contributed to over 130 feature films, including many beloved horror franchises such as Blade, Halloween, Candyman, Scream, Exorcist, Feast, Prophecy, Mimic, Scary Movie, Children of the Corn, The Collector, Piranha, and notably Hellraiser (eight films).
He is particularly recognized for crafting intricate and shocking death sequences, earning him the nickname "The Hollywood Assassin."
At 27, he wrote and directed his first feature film, the sci-fi horror "Within The Rock," produced by Robert Patrick (Terminator 2, Walk The Line). Since then, he has directed several feature films, including the well-received Hellraiser: Judgment, working with actors like Christopher Lloyd, Chevy Chase, Dakota Fanning, Chloe Grace Moretz, Lynn Redgrave, Katey Segal, Howie Mandel, Wallace Shawn, and James Earl Jones.
In addition to directing, he has written multiple produced screenplays, produced projects, directed second units, acted, performed stunts, and puppeteered on various productions.
Based in Los Angeles, he operates a design studio in Northridge, just minutes from Hollywood.
