Biographie
Daniel Dresner is a British actor, voice artist, coach, and teacher. Born in Bolivia, he grew up in Liverpool and London, lived and acted in Tokyo, and trained and worked in New York City before returning to London. His father was a Scottish engineer, and his mother was an English artist. Dresner earned an honors degree in Business and spent seven years with multinational Olivetti, rising to Divisional Manager in the UK. After a year of traveling and backpacking, he settled in Tokyo for three and a half years, becoming a theater director, teacher, and working actor. His first stage role was Tony in Alan Ayckbourn's A Woman in Mind. His first feature film role was the Archangel Gabriel in Nostradamus, and his initial TV roles were on Fuji TV's variety show Tunnels.
Seeking further training, he moved to New York City to study at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute, earning a certificate of excellence. One of his most rewarding experiences was playing Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Feste in Twelfth Night, performing to audiences of 600 nightly for three months in Washington Square Park. After six years in NYC, working steadily in film, TV, and stage, he returned to London. Expanding his acting career, he also qualified as a life and acting coach, mentoring hundreds of actors from beginners to established stars. He authored A Life-Coaching Approach to Screen Acting, published by Bloomsbury/Methuen, which sold over 1,000 copies worldwide within its first two years.
Since 1992, Dresner has appeared in over 100 films, 75 commercials, and 100 plays, and has provided voices for games, narrations, commercials, corporate videos, and ADR. Among his notable credits is ADR work on The Boxer with Daniel Day-Lewis, where he voiced the commentator, an army officer, and much of the crowd.
