Biographie
Laurel Harris is an American actress best recognized for her role as Karla Porter, wife to Willem Dafoe’s character, in the film adaptation of Dean Koontz’s bestseller, Odd Thomas, directed by Stephen Sommers. She is also known for playing Mrs. Copeland in the American Girl movie Saige Paints the Sky alongside Jane Seymour, and for portraying Helen, the overbearing mother, in The Creep Behind the Camera.
Laurel studied acting and musical theater at the United States International University in San Diego, California, was a theater major at Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington, and later refined her production skills at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, where she completed her B.A. with a focus on Film and Television studies.
An accomplished dancer and choreographer, Laurel co-founded the Ormao Dance Company in Colorado and trained for over 27 years in Ballet, Jazz, and Modern Dance before retiring. Her company, Imagination in Motion, brought the joy of dance and improvisation to schoolchildren and remains a source of great pride for her.
Known nationally for hosting live TV programs for various networks, including DISH TV, Laurel has maintained long-term spokesperson contracts with Fortune 500 companies and has voiced numerous television and radio commercials. Additionally, she is an award-winning producer, having earned multiple Telly Awards, NATOA awards, and an Emmy from the Heartland Chapter for a series of impactful PSAs.
Her love for the outdoors, family, and acting fuels her drive, and she is always eager to explore new and undiscovered parts of the world.
