Biographie
After earning a degree in Business from The Ohio State University, Fruchtman spent seven years at Scott Jordan International, a manufacturer’s sales representative firm specializing in commercial and hospitality furnishings. As Senior Vice President of Sales, he managed major national accounts like Marriott International and Starwood Hotels. In 2008, Fruchtman left Scott Jordan to establish Dro Entertainment, an entertainment production and financing company, where he acts as President and CEO.
Since its founding, Dro Entertainment has financed and produced numerous television programs, including the comedy series "Pauly Shore and Friends" and "Russell Peters Presents," in partnership with Showtime Networks. The company recently completed production on the second season of the "LOL Comedy Festival" and the 13-episode, 30-minute "LOL Comedy Series," a national comedy tour created and financed alongside Showtime. Over the past three years, Fruchtman has been instrumental in featuring over 120 comedians on Showtime. He also produced the popular ABC Family movies "The Dog Who Saved Christmas," "The Dog Who Saved Christmas Vacation," and "The Dog Who Saved Halloween," starring Dean Cain and Mario Lopez.
Fruchtman was an equity investor and Executive Producer on the film "Black Swan," directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Winona Ryder, Barbara Hershey, and Vincent Cassel. He helped finance and served as Co-Executive Producer on the action thriller "Machete," co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and Ethan Maniquis, featuring Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Lindsay Lohan, Steven Seagal, Don Johnson, and Danny Trejo. He also Executive Produced the thriller "King of The Avenue," directed by Ryan Combs and starring Ving Rhames and Esai Morales, scheduled for release in fall 2010. Another 2010 release he Executive Produced is the urban drama "Down for Life," directed by Alan Jacobs and starring Danny Glover, Snoop Dogg, and Laz Alonso, produced in association with Dro Entertainment. Fruchtman Executive Produced the independent film "Hesher," produced with Dro Entertainment, directed by Spencer Susser and starring Natalie Portman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Rainn Wilson. The film premiered in the domestic competition at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2010 and secured domestic distribution there. He also served as Executive Producer on the 2010 film "Abandoned," starring Brittany Murphy, Dean Cain, and Mimi Rogers. Additionally, Fruchtman is Co-Executive Producer and equity investor on the dark comedy "Everything Must Go," directed by Dan Rush and starring Will Ferrell and Rebecca Hall. He produced the dark comedy "Salvation Boulevard," directed by George Ratliff and starring Jennifer Connelly, Marisa Tomei, Pierce Brosnan, Greg Kinnear, and Ed Harris. Currently, Fruchtman and Dro Entertainment are developing several high-profile television and film projects, including "LUST," written by Joe Eszterhas, as well as "Crashing Through" and "The Untitled Hal Berger Project," both penned by Emmy Award winner Adam Mazer.
