Biographie
Jonathan Ward Edmondson, born in Eastern North Carolina, began tap, jazz, and ballet classes at age 9. He engaged in a wide range of activities including scouts, swim team, little league baseball, and choir, which eventually led to voice coaching and participation in musicals during and after high school. With abundant energy, Ward excelled as a medaled swimmer and dancer. He later taught ballroom and country western dance to middle school students and adults. Performing at various venues, including local TV appearances, Ward toured with his dance troupe, winning numerous awards and competitions along the East Coast.
Ward majored in dance at Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Virginia. There, he choreographed and performed lead roles with the Bristol Ballet Company under Constance Harding’s direction, while studying acting, voice, and other theater disciplines such as historical costuming, set design and construction, and theater sound and lighting.
After returning to North Carolina, Ward earned a Bachelor of Science from East Carolina University in 1994 and began a career in laboratory science. Despite this, his passion for the arts continued as he taught dance at Bobbi Collins Dance/Arts Studio. He choreographed and performed in numerous events and was a founding member of the Bobbi Collins Dance Company. Ward also taught aerobics, ballroom, and country/western dance at Dance Conventions like Danny Hoctor's Dance Caravan, earning many trophies from competitions in New York, Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia.
In 2000, Ward studied massage therapy at the Southeastern School of Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy in Charlotte, North Carolina. Later that year, he moved to Philadelphia to work at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, practicing massage therapy evenings. He continued taking acting classes, attending film workshops, and performing supernumerary and light walker roles with the Opera Company of Philadelphia until relocating to Hollywood in 2007 to further pursue his dream.
