Michael Wayne Foster is an American actor and producer, born in Monroe, Michigan, to Rowland Foster, an educator, and Emilie (Brumby) Foster, an R.N. After earning his degree from Mount Union College in Ohio, Michael spent nine years teaching high school English. During this time, he honed his improv skills, which led to his national television debut in 2005. "I've always loved acting. The opportunity to work in New York and explore the entertainment industry's possibilities was overwhelming. Hollywood captured my attention, and I wanted to see what I could achieve," he shared. Holding an M.A. in education and a B.A. in English, Michael pursued a new passion: film and television acting. Less than a year later, he left teaching and relocated to Los Angeles. Reflecting on his career change, he said, "Teaching was an incredible journey, and I’m grateful to have impacted so many young lives. But every journey must end when another begins."
In Hollywood, Michael has built a strong career across film, commercials, and television. His first notable role was as a Cobra Neo-Viper in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. "Playing one of my favorite childhood characters was an amazing experience," he recalled. "I even had multiple Viper toys because I loved them so much!" He followed this with a role in Miracle at Gate 213, acting alongside Academy Award winners Louis Gossett Jr. and Shirley Jones. Michael has guest-starred on shows such as 90210, Disney's Kickin' It, Gamer's Guide to Pretty Much Everything, MTV's Awkward, Nickelodeon's The Thundermans and Henry Danger, The Middle, Black-ish, MacGyver, and Lethal Weapon. He recently portrayed ring announcer Richie Simmonsma in the MMA drama Embattled. "Working with the talented Stephen Dorff on a script by David McKenna (Blow, American History X) was a fantastic experience that really pushed me to improve," he noted. Michael has appeared multiple times on SYFY's Face-Off, which helped him develop skills in creature effects and makeup-heavy productions. His work also includes appearances on ABC, ABC Family, Fox, STYLE, BRAVO, National Geographic, and A&E. After starring in 2016’s David V Goliath, IMDb ranked him #32 among Hollywood's most physically imposing actors. He has featured in national commercials for AT&T, Coca-Cola, Virgin America, and Novartis.
Michael has been featured on over 800 international romance novel covers, including titles by numerous USA Today best-selling authors. "I entered the romance industry with my sense of humor, which is the only way I would," he laughed. "This career has allowed me to travel extensively across the country and meet many wonderful people. I’ve made lifelong friends by taking that chance," he added. Recently, Michael donated his signature hair when it was cut for his role as an American Army officer in the Korean War film Road to Boston.
Currently, Michael creates content on YouTube and Rumble under "The American SIZED Travel Guide," sharing unique experiences from his travels. He also appears as the supervillain Strongdor in the new movie The Thundermans Return, available on Paramount Plus and Nickelodeon.
An avid skier and traveler, Michael enjoys life with his wife, daughter, and dogs.
