Biographie
John Bowey, a filmmaker and multimedia director at Transmediavision USA, addresses major societal challenges such as conflict resolution, identity, history, sustainability, biodiversity, climate change, consciousness, health and wellness, technology, science, innovation, entrepreneurship, and interfaith dialogue. Raised in the UK, Nigeria, and Zambia, John has created a wide range of film, TV, and musical projects across Hollywood, the Middle East, South and West Africa, and the Pacific Northwest. His work includes documentaries, live TV series, and concerts. During South Africa's post-apartheid democratic transition, he directed around 100 episodes of the daily series People of the South, which focused on truth, atonement, and reconciliation, featuring guests like President Nelson Mandela, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and President Thabo Mbeki. John has collaborated with artists such as U2, Peter Gabriel, and Tina Turner in the USA and Africa, worked twice with the Dalai Lama and the Tibet House team, and created immersive virtual reality experiences for premium science centers and museums in the Middle East. Currently, he produces and directs documentaries about social and environmental crises and potential solutions. In November 2022, he and his team presented the trailer for their hopeful and inspiring climate restoration series, Back to Our Future, at the UN Climate Summit, COP27 in Egypt. A trailer narrated by Peter Coyote was also showcased at Cannes in May 2023.
