Biographie
Brandon was born on February 18, 1971, in the German town of Geislingen an der Steige. Academically, he excelled early, completing primary school in three years instead of the usual four. He finished secondary education with majors in Business, Economics, and Mathematics, earning honors in literature. In 1989, he became the youngest accredited university student in Germany when he enrolled at the University of Stuttgart.
At age seven, Brandon had his first acting experience in a school play and spent two years with the Theatre Group during secondary school. In 1992, after being noticed during the preliminary rounds of a "Mr. Germany" contest, he began modeling with two agencies, appearing in several fashion shows before debuting in print with an ad for Berliner Bank. After a TV extra role in 1994, he quickly transitioned to work as an MC for fashion shows, special events, fairs, and a local radio station.
Brandon landed his first action role in 2000 and started private acting lessons in 2001 to develop his dramatic skills. In 2003, he took a bold step by flying to Hong Kong at his own expense to audition for the Michelle Yeoh film Silver Hawk, securing the role of a hunter who battles Michelle in the film’s opening. He stayed in Hong Kong for several months, appearing in Infernal Affairs 2 and fighting Taiwanese actor and singer Vaness Wu in Star Runner. He has since worked extensively in Hong Kong and China, featuring in numerous TV commercials for clients like DBS, HSBC, and monster.com, while also receiving Voice and Speech training at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. His latest role was in director Ronny Yu’s martial arts epic Fearless, where he portrayed an arrogant German fighter who challenges Jet Li’s character Hua Yuan-jia in the film’s climax. To meet the physical demands, Brandon trained with one of Germany’s top fencing masters before working with fight choreographer Yuen Woo-ping and his action team.
Brandon began martial arts training at 14 with Judo and has since studied Ju Jitsu, Bo Jitsu, Taekwondo, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai. After discovering Leung Ting's Wing Tsun Kung Fu, he fully committed to the discipline, earning his first Master level in 2003 in Hong Kong and becoming an instructor in 2004. He is currently the only non-Asian accredited instructor of Leung Ting Wing Tsun Kung Fu in Hong Kong and China.
He has also received specialized training from members of the German Special Forces, including stick and knife fighting, firearms training, and police tactics—skills that proved valuable during his time as a bodyguard in Germany.
Brandon’s athletic background is diverse, including Classical Ballet and competitive Professional Ballroom and Latin Dancing. He is proficient in many sports such as soccer, basketball, and volleyball and is an excellent skier. Additionally, he has over 15 years of experience as a trumpeter, having won first prize with his youth brass orchestra at the 1987 Youth & Music World Championships in Vienna.
He is fluent in German and English, with knowledge of French, some Italian, and basic Mandarin.
Currently based in Hong Kong and China, Brandon works in the film and television industry, continuously refining his skills while establishing his reputation and developing several personal projects.
