Biographie
Murilo Elbas is an actor, director, producer, and writer, best known for his role as Col. Antunes in the Golden Bear Award-winning film Elite Squad, as well as for portraying Branco in the highly acclaimed soap opera Avenida Brasil. His recent projects include the 2014 films Getulio, directed by Joao Jardim, and The Pilgrim: The Best Story of Paulo Coelho. He has also appeared in popular soap operas, movies, and TV series such as Insensato Coração, Grande Família, and Malhação.
A versatile actor, Murilo excels in a wide range of genres including comedy, action/crime, drama, romance, and thriller. Throughout his career, he has taken on diverse roles, showcasing his ability to embody any character. Examples of his portrayals include police officers, mafia bosses, soccer coaches, thieves, politicians, military personnel, taxi drivers, firefighters, gym teachers, kidnappers, hunters, police detectives, musicians, gay characters, and gangsters.
Born in 1955 in Rio de Janeiro, Murilo began his acting career at 39, making his television debut in the series Você Decide. Since then, he has accumulated over 65 credits across film and television, authored three books, and released four CDs.
In addition to his extensive theater training, Murilo holds a degree in Physical Education and is a certified holistic therapist. He is a strong advocate for maintaining a healthy body and mind and has conducted workshops focused on actor well-being alongside his work in television and theater.
In 2013, Murilo relocated to Toronto, Canada, aiming to broaden his career opportunities. Since moving, he has gained credits in commercials and film festivals. Most recently, he appeared in the upcoming movie Mrs. Jones, playing the role of Mr. Jones.
