From a young age, Florian showed a natural talent for music, particularly drawn to the Styrian harmonica, which he began learning at five. By age six, he had mastered the instrument well enough to perform with the duo "Lustige Almdudler" around his hometown. In 1991, at just ten years old, Florian made his first recording, "Florian with his Styrian harmonica," which caught the attention of the folk music scene, including presenter Karl Moik. Moik invited him to appear on his young talent show, "Wie die Alten sungen." The audience was captivated by Florian’s skill and professionalism, leading to another television appearance on "Musikantenstadl" just a week later. Florian Silbereisen quickly won over both audiences and the folk music industry, resulting in numerous further TV appearances.
In 1992, he received the "Herbert Roth Young Talent Prize for Instrumental Soloists" and also won the "Crown of Folk Music" that same year. His popularity continued to rise steadily. He performed with the "Zillertaler Schürzenjäger," whose member Alfred Eberharter was a major influence on him, and gained recognition both nationally and internationally. In 1995, Silbereisen achieved his first chart successes, winning the "Folk Music Hit Parade" with "Alpenbrauser" and placing second in the "Super Hit Parade of Folk Music." His album "Lustig samma" came out in 1997. In 1999, he embarked on a major German tour alongside fellow folk artists Stefanie Hertel and Stefan Mross. In 2002, MDR recruited Florian as host of the program "With Florian, Hat and Walking Stick," where he journeyed across six stages of the Rennsteig trail. This series launched his successful career as a presenter.
Starting in February 2004, Florian took over hosting the "Folk Music Festival" from Carmen Nebel, along with numerous other television productions and shows. Despite his presenting success, he remained dedicated to his musical roots, regularly releasing new albums. In 2006, he debuted as an actor in the TV film "King of Hearts." The following year, he won the "Superkrone of Folk Music." In 2008, he publicly confirmed his relationship with fellow artist Helene Fischer, and the pair were regarded as a dream couple in the German music scene. On December 19, 2018, Fischer and Silbereisen announced their separation. In 2019, he appeared as Captain Max Pargerer in the ZDF series "Das Traumschiff." In 2020, he replaced Xavier Naidoo as a judge on the 17th season of "Deutschland sucht den Superstar.
