Brett Flynn was born in Duncan, Oklahoma, and his family relocated to Tulsa when he was two. His father worked as a petroleum engineer in the oil industry, which influenced Brett to pursue a career in oil and gas, working both in corporate offices and oil fields across South Louisiana, Texas, California, and Oklahoma.
When the domestic oil industry significantly slowed in the early 1990s, Brett explored real estate and consulting. A lifelong fan of movies and TV, he had always harbored an interest in film but never acted on it. In his thirties, he realized time was passing and something was missing. As he said, "I was going through a midlife crisis and I'm not even middle-aged yet!" This realization led him to pursue acting.
After visiting Hollywood, Brett gained insight into the film industry. Returning to Oklahoma, he focused on his local market, taking acting classes, specialized film workshops, and participating in community theater. Gradually, he began to build his acting credits.
By signing with various local and regional talent agencies, Brett started landing roles in commercials, industrial training films, and independent movies. He acted in several films featuring well-known Hollywood actors.
During pilot season in the winter of 2003, Brett took another trip to L.A. and, through networking with local casting agencies, secured appearances on popular TV shows such as The West Wing, Crossing Jordan, and Mr. Sterling.
Alongside acting, Brett chose to become a filmmaker and launched his own production company, Golden Wing Films. Soon after, he partnered with Russian director Peter Zhmutski of PZ Production.
