My name is Cody Cowell, born and raised in Manhattan Beach, California. As the youngest of three boys, I was the smallest growing up among my brothers and friends. Entering high school at just under 5 feet tall, I felt surrounded and intimidated by peers who seemed larger than life.
Growing up in the sunny beach cities, I enjoyed various outdoor activities and sports like soccer, volleyball, basketball, martial arts, and football. I spent my days climbing trees, throwing water balloons, playing tag in neighborhood parks, and heading to the beach with friends to boogie board, body surf, or camp with family and friends.
Throughout my childhood, I endured numerous injuries including broken bones, dislocations, concussions, fainting spells, and severe growing pains. I even faced serious illness and near-death experiences. Despite these hardships, I responded with determination, focus, and gratitude for life’s opportunities.
During high school, I experienced a growth spurt, gaining a foot in height, plus an additional 4 inches and 100 pounds through college. Now standing 6'4" and weighing 255 lbs, I have excelled in various sports, competing in soccer, martial arts, and eventually playing professional beach volleyball.
I’ve always had a passion for movies and acting, loving to bring characters to life. Early on, I recognized my natural talent and passion for acting but wasn’t ready to pursue it seriously. A profound personal and family experience awakened me to fully commit to acting and chase my dream of becoming a full-time working actor. Without any headshots, resume, or guidance, I wrote a detailed paragraph about myself—physically, mentally, and emotionally—and began submitting for roles online.
In 2019, I joined SAG-AFTRA and achieved my dream of becoming a full-time working actor. Currently, my film "Run Baby Run" is streaming, with two more feature films releasing in 2025. I have also signed on for several feature films, TV series, voice-over and animated projects, as well as a video game.
I love immersing myself in characters, pushing beyond my comfort zone to fully embody their physical, mental, emotional, and energetic traits, breathing life into them throughout each shoot.
I am a proud father of two wonderful children whom I adore, and I continue to call Manhattan Beach, California, my home.
