Maxwell Brooke Simkins was born in October 2006 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Hilary and John. As the eldest of two children, he began acting at age six, when his parents sought ways to nurture his creativity and vivid imagination. His first role came under the direction of Rob Reiner in And So It Goes (2014), starring Diane Keaton, Michael Douglas, and Sterling Jerins. Since then, he has appeared in numerous national commercials for brands like Kmart, Campbell's, Olive Garden, Papa Johns, and Ally Bank. In 2015, he co-starred in About Ray, a drama directed by Gaby Dellal, featuring Elle Fanning, Naomi Watts, Tate Donovan, and Susan Sarandon; and in Love the Coopers (2015), directed by Jessie Nelson, alongside Diane Keaton, Olivia Wilde, Marisa Tomei, Alan Arkin, John Goodman, Ed Helms, Alex Borstein, and Amanda Seyfried.
Maxwell is currently filming the feature film The Book of Henry (2017). He has also appeared three times on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, participating in comedic sketches.
He enjoys soccer, baseball, golf, fencing, and excels in school, particularly in science and Chinese. Minecraft is his favorite game. Maxwell is a proud member of SAG and AFTRA. When not working, he cherishes his role as the older brother to Oscar, born in 2011.
