Robert Rabiah is an acclaimed Australian artist recognized for his award-winning work and multiple nominations. He was nominated for Best Actor alongside Geoffrey Rush, Hugo Weaving, Sam Neill, and David Wenham at the 2012 Australian Film Institute/Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards, the 2011 Inside Film Awards, and is a three-time Australian Academy Awards (AACTA) candidate for 2023, 2024, and 2025.
He won Best Actor at the Monaco Charity Film Festival for his role in Michael Rymer’s Face to Face (2011), Best Writer at the Australian Writers’ Guild (Monte Miller Award), and Best Writer at the National Literary Awards (Fellowship of Australian Writers).
Rabiah’s other achievements include a Top 5 Award at the inaugural Spaamart (Screen Producers Association of Australia Film Market), a Spark Award from the Australian Film Commission, a Cannes World Film Festival nomination for Best Feature Documentary (2023), multiple Australian Academy Awards candidacies for Best Feature Documentary (2023/2024) and Best Supporting Actor (2023/2024 and 2025/2026), and a nomination for Best Actor in an Ensemble at the Australian Equity Ensemble Awards for his performance in Safe Harbour (2018), which won Best TV Movie/Mini-Series at the International Emmy® Awards.
He has appeared in some of Australia’s most beloved films and TV shows, including Chopper (2000) with Eric Bana, Deadline Gallipoli (2015) with Sam Worthington, Jack Irish (2016) with Guy Pearce, Ali's Wedding (2017) with Osamah Sami, Below (2019) with Anthony LaPaglia, the critically acclaimed Secret City (2016) with Anna Torv, Safe Harbour (2018) directed by Glendyn Ivin, Netflix/Peacock/NBCUniversal’s Irreverent (2022), and the feature film Land of Bad (2024) alongside Russell Crowe and Liam Hemsworth.
Early in his career, Rabiah gained recognition as a distinctive tough-guy actor, attracting the attention of respected Australian and international directors and producers. Known for his intense and captivating performances, he commands a powerful screen presence that has engaged audiences worldwide.
Inspired by growing up across from a cinema, Rabiah was mentored by Dominic Minghella and Robin Swicord early on. He also co-hosts the award-winning ShowBiz Podcast (2019), ranked among Australia’s top 12 podcasts, which focuses on the entertainment industry.
