Biografi
Andy Davoli, an Italian-American actor, writer, and producer, is known for his intense, witty performances and unique screen presence. Hailing from Syracuse, he began acting as a child in local theater and youth summer arts programs, where he explored clowning, physical comedy, and character development. He later pursued theater studies at Villanova University under Fr. Peter Donohue, O.S.A., participating in various Philadelphia stage productions that laid the groundwork for his acting career.
Discovered by filmmaker James Gray, Davoli made his feature film debut in The Yards alongside Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, and James Caan. He followed this with roles in Martin Scorsese’s Bringing Out the Dead and People I Know, where he acted opposite Al Pacino. His breakthrough came as Chris Scarpa in Knockaround Guys, starring alongside Vin Diesel, Barry Pepper, and John Malkovich.
In New York theater, Davoli performed in The Indian Wants the Bronx and Hurlyburly, honing the emotionally intense style that characterizes his work. He gained wider acclaim when David Chase created the role of Dino Zerilli for him on The Sopranos. The episode "Amour Fou," featuring his character, concluded with one of the series’ most dramatic gunfights and earned James Gandolfini an Emmy Award.
Davoli’s film career continued with the Russo Brothers’ Welcome to Collinwood, where he played ensemble lead Basil opposite Sam Rockwell, George Clooney, and Gabrielle Union. He was later cast by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and filmmaker David Mamet opposite Val Kilmer in Spartan.
His television appearances include roles on 24, CSI: NY, CSI: Miami, Burn Notice, and Lucifer. On HBO’s Golden Globe-nominated Warm Springs, he portrayed Jake Perini alongside Kenneth Branagh and Cynthia Nixon. In fashion, he featured in a Dolce & Gabbana campaign with Gisele Bündchen, photographed by Steven Meisel.
In the interactive entertainment field, Davoli has provided voice and performance capture for Rockstar Games’ L.A. Noire, Medal of Honor, and Mafia III.
Recent projects include The Break-Up Pill, directed by Tom Arnold, and a multi-film role as news anchor Elijah Enoch in Stiletto, If It Bleeds, and Sweetest Day, with Stiletto presented by Eli Roth.
Dedicated to mastering his craft, Davoli continues to study with acting teacher Tony Greco in the Strasberg tradition, emphasizing sensory experience, emotional authenticity, and psychological depth through scenes from classic American playwrights such as Arthur Miller and Eugene O’Neill.
Currently, Davoli is writing, producing, and starring in Laz, a deeply personal feature film that explores legacy, identity, faith, and redemption within an Italian-American family dynasty.
