Biografi
Gregory Scott Bedford was born in San Mateo and raised in Belmont, California, to Doria Eckert, who attended high school alongside television icon Merv Griffin and James K. Bedford, Gregory's father, a Navy pilot who flew a PT 17 Stearman in the service and later bought a biplane in the 1970's and took the kids up flying. Gregory was a dare devil and wanted to jump out and skydive, but James said, "No." James later became an art teacher for 35 years teaching ceramics and watercolors. Gregory was in the drama class at Carlmont High School and did plays and musicals. In 1973, he became a thespian. He was on the swimming and water polo teams for four years and became a lifeguard and swimming instructor. Gregory graduated from high school in 1975.
In 1977, Gregory went into stand-up comedy. After doing a stint at the Holy City Zoo in San Francisco, Robin Williams watched his performance, approached Gregory and said, "You're really funny. You should continue doing comedy." Gregory will always remember Williams' kindness and generosity. Gregory has performed at The Comic Strip in New York, The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, and in 1978, was in the San Francisco Stand Up Comedy competition.
As he continued performing and acting, he had all types of jobs - a taxi cab driver, an orderly at a convalescent hospital, and worked as an apprentice for a local auto body shop. He became interested in auto painting and restoring classic cars. In 1981 at the young youthful age of 24, Gregory started his auto body and painting business and has become a 40-year successful 5-star business owner serving the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2000, he started painting, following in his father's artistic footsteps, painting large mixed media collage abstract pieces. In 2022, he was in the New York Art Expo at Pier 39. Gregory just loves being active and creative.
To this day he continues his art and acting. Gregory has performed in over 30 theatre performances and embodies every character he portrays.
