Biografi
Floyd Vivino started his show business career as a child performer, giving piano recitals and dancing alongside Sandra Lee and Jill Davison. He danced at the 1964 World's Fair in New York and at the Steel Pier in Atlantic City. During high school, his dance and piano instructors prepared him for careers in those fields. However, finding it challenging to practice piano eight hours daily or endure ballet classes, he quit both in his junior year and joined the drama club instead. On stage in high school, he found laughter more rewarding than applause. After graduating, he immediately entered show business, working in circuses, nightclubs, amusement parks, and as a comedian in the few remaining burlesque shows. His diverse performing arts background eventually led him to television, where he launched The Uncle Floyd Show in New Jersey on January 29, 1974. The show gained a following in the New York-New Jersey area during the 1970s and, now in its 24th year, holds the record as the longest-running television show in New Jersey history. In February 1987, he began hosting his own Italian radio program, The Italian-American Serenade, broadcast on WRTN-FM from New Rochelle, NY. Vivino claims to possess the largest private collection of Italian records outside of Italy, totaling around 250,000. He has acted on NBC-TV's Law and Order (twice), ABC-TV's soap opera Loving, Bill Boggs' Comedy Tonight (syndicated), Nickelodeon's Turkey TV, and has substituted for Gilbert Gottfried on USA TV's Up All Night. Comedy Channel viewers have seen him on the Dr. Demento Show. Amid these roles, he secured small parts in films such as Good Morning Vietnam, Crazy People, Mr. Wonderful, A Pyromaniac's Love Story, and The Clowns of Babylon. Nevertheless, live performances have always been his passion. He has performed for many years at resorts in the Catskill and Pocono Mountains, appearing on stages at Caesar's, The Fernwood, Friar Tuck, Roseland Ranch, Green Lake, The Nevelle, Pine Grove, Kelly's, Villa Baglieri, and Villa Roma. He has also toured with or opened for notable artists including Jimmy Roselli, Lou Monte, Melba Moore, Jerry Vale, Pat Cooper, Al Martino, Pete Seeger, Toni Arden, Julius LaRosa, Tom Chapin, Eddie Rabbit, and Jimmy Sturr. Currently residing in New Jersey, Floyd performs live about 300 nights a year in clubs and on stage.
