Biografi
Before launching his Hollywood producing career, Richard Brams was an entrepreneur in Chicago, Illinois, where he founded a company specializing in graphic design, commercial photography, and the production of TV commercials and documentaries. He also published Earth, a provocative and controversial counter-culture magazine that, despite its short run, was highly regarded.
Brams began his extensive producing career in 1980 as an associate producer on Thief, director Michael Mann's first feature film. He continued as associate producer on Mann's next film, The Keep, and then joined the Miami Vice production team as co-producer when the show started in 1984, eventually becoming the co-executive producer.
Following Miami Vice, he served as co-executive producer for both NBC Drug Wars miniseries, which were executive produced by Mann.
Over the next eleven years, Brams produced numerous TV movies, pilots, and miniseries for network and cable television, including In the Company of Darkness; Shadow of a Doubt; Swing Vote; Suddenly; Night Sins; The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax; Mafia Doctor, as well as twelve episodes of Paramount's reboot of The Untouchables series and the independent film WiseGirls.
Richard Brams passed away on April 15, 2021, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, at the age of 93.
