Debbie Evans is recognized as one of Hollywood's premier stuntwomen. Her passion for motorcycles began at age six in Lakewood, California, and by nine, she was competing in motorcycle trials. In 1976, she became the first woman to achieve expert rank, competing successfully against men, and earned factory sponsorship from Yamaha as the top female observed trials rider in the U.S.
Her entertainment career started with halftime shows featuring her signature headstand on a balancing motorcycle. Embracing the challenges of a male-dominated field, she performed a motorcycle jump over a 30-foot ravine for the film Deathsport, launching a stunt career spanning decades with numerous awards. In 1978, as the only female competitor, she tied for second in the CBS Stunt Competition and won first place in the car race, outperforming top male stunt drivers. Debbie has been featured in Reader's Digest, Glamour, Cycle World, Dirt Bike, ESPN, The Montel Williams Show, Women's Entertainment Television, and Entertainment Tonight.
Debbie mastered a wide range of stunts but remained devoted to motorcycles and cars. In 2002, she won two Taurus World Stunt Awards for doubling Michelle Rodriguez in The Fast and the Furious and continued working on the franchise and with the actress in later films. With seven Taurus World Stunt Awards to her name, one of the highest honors in her field, she is also inducted into the American Motorcyclist (AMA) Hall of Fame and the Hollywood Stuntman's Hall of Fame, among other accolades.
Some of her most memorable work includes doubling Carrie-Anne Moss in The Matrix Reloaded, driving a Cadillac CTS and riding a Ducati 996 in the iconic freeway chase. She also doubled for Michelle Rodriguez in the original Fast and Furious, performing a stunt driving a car under a semi-truck, crashing, and flipping it off an embankment. Debbie contributed to the female driving sequences in Fast and Furious films 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, and 8. Additionally, she served as the stunt driving double for Angelina Jolie in Wanted, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and Taking Lives.
