Biografi
Aubrey Shea Peeples (they/them) is a queer actor and jazz/electronic musician from the swampy suburbs of Florida. Raised as a theater enthusiast, they were involved in professional theater by age ten. Choosing to defer Harvard to focus on their film career, they joined ABC's Nashville as Layla Grant, a character who, after gaining semi-fame as a teenager on a vocal competition show, faces depression, addiction, divorce, and family estrangement while discovering their artistic identity. While on the show, Aubrey toured nationally and performed multiple times at the Grand Ole Opry, showcasing blues and soul music. Following Nashville, they appeared in several independent films, including their writing and directorial debut "Decadeless," which premiered at the 2019 Portland Oregon Women's Film Festival for women, trans, and nonbinary creators. They also starred in Carrie Brownstein's Hulu pilot "Search & Destroy," inspired by Brownstein's band Sleater-Kinney. Aubrey’s debut album "Happy Birthday," released on November 26, 2021, under their musical alter ego "swampz," is available on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. Most recently (2026), they lead Kit Williamson's Revry TV LGBTQIA+ series "Unconventional," streaming on Revry, Peacock, and Amazon, portraying Margot, a queer bipolar character and sibling to Kit's Noah, who confronts childhood trauma while starting a family with her girlfriend.
