Biografi
Educated across Africa, India, and Britain, Miriam brings 35 years of media experience. After completing film school at the University of London's Goldsmiths College, she began her career at the BBC, progressing to roles as a broadcast journalist and documentary/drama producer. She spent 12 years in the UK working with international broadcasters such as the BBC, Channel 4, PBS, ITV, The History Channel, Channel 5, and WGBH, producing investigative, political, historical documentaries, and drama-docs.
Driven by a long-held ambition to work on feature films, she relocated to India and joined Excel Entertainment in Mumbai. Over several years, first as Executive Producer and later as CEO, Miriam showcased her talent in building and leading large, multidisciplinary teams to deliver some of the highest production values in Hindi cinema, contributing to films like Don, Don 2, Rock On, Luck By Chance, Kartik Calling Kartik, Game, and Talaash. Comfortable managing both large-budget star-driven projects and smaller independent films, as well as episodic series for TV and OTT platforms, she now serves as a Consulting Producer for various production companies, including Endemol Shine, Cinestaan India, Guru Films, and Little Films.
Miriam has also consulted for the NFDC's Film Bazaar, mentoring Screen Writers' and Producers' Labs from 2013 to 2018, and serves as a selector for their Co-production market. Additionally, she regularly participates as a selection committee member for the Hubert Bals Script Development Fund.
Recognizing the growing need for professional producers in the evolving Hindi film industry and the shortage of qualified individuals, Miriam played a key role in establishing India’s first Film Producing course at SRFTI, designing its syllabus and curriculum. Now 13 years old, the course has become a model for other film schools introducing producing programs. She frequently lectures at institutions such as SRFTI, MIT Pune, Annapurna, MET, and KRNNVISA.
Miriam is an active member of the Women in Cinema Collective in Kerala (WCC), working to address structural inequities affecting women in film and developing policy frameworks to promote change.
She is also a published author.
