Biografi
Tina Huerta was born in Tucson, Arizona and raised in Arlington, Virginia. Huerta began winning awards in writing in 1990 and then in film in 2005 after receiving her Bachelor degree at the end of 2003. In fact, Huerta did not begin her film studies until the summer of 2001.
By the fall of 2001, Huerta was recruited by BBC Director, Rob Walker who was living in Tucson, to produce the Noir feature, Mayhem!, that would never be released. The script called for 50 speaking roles. Confronted by the new working alien-like environment, Huerta managed a nine-day shoot at two locations, no industry standard software, a crew of 20, 40 extras, and a budget under $1,500US. By the third day, Walker asked for permission from "Mum." It was mayhem and her only regret was she and Walker had not considered a behind-the-scenes documentary.
While Huerta claims she can still do a feature breakdown manually, these days she prefers focusing on writing, executive production meetings, and post supervising. Her media career covers comedy, drama, fantasy, documentary, and music. Huerta has worked on stage, in radio, and done commercial work, music videos, television, web-series, and film. Like any solid filmmaker she often finds herself both behind and in-front at a moment's notice.
Huerta also finds time for a bit of rare hybrid-publishing, even receiving a good review from Kirkus on the double-memoir, From Saigon to Katum: Two Exchanges of War, which is centered around the American Viet Nam War. Asked about her favorite position, Huerta replied, "Short-stop."
