Dinesh Sudarshan Soi is a visionary Indian screenwriter, director, producer, renowned former casting director and entrepreneur who has significantly shaped the landscape of Indian entertainment.
Born on May 17, 1984, in Kalanaur, Punjab, and armed with strong academic credentials-ACCA (I) from the UK, an M.Com and an MBA in Marketing, he is celebrated for his dynamic storytelling and cinematic flair. Before entering the entertainment world, he worked as a professor at S.A.S Nagar, Mohali, Punjab.
Dinesh began his journey by directing music videos, quickly gaining recognition with over 100 successful projects, many of which trended on YouTube and became viral sensations. Among his most acclaimed works are Yeh Galiyan Yeh Chaubara, featuring Padmini Kolhapure, and Baarish with Pranutan Bahl, both praised for their emotional depth and striking visuals.
Evolving beyond music videos, Dinesh has made a successful transition into fiction. His first written, directed, and produced English short film, Lights, Camera, Lies, starring Karishma Lala Sharma, was released on July 1, 2025, on Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV. His second fantasy short film, The Water Kingdom, starring Rahul Dev, was released on January 16, 2026, on Apple TV and YouTube Movies (Google Play) and received a tremendous response for its extraordinary concept of reminding human beings to respect nature and learn to live in coexistence with it. Besides this, as a writer, director and producer, he has worked on several web series for different platforms.
He made his full-length theatrical feature film debut as a Creative Producer with Vellapanti, released on May 30, 2025, to positive reviews. His next feature film as Creative Director, Ram Mohammad Singh Azad, a patriotic drama, is set for release on February 7, 2026, on the Waves App.
Finally, as a writer, director and producer of feature films, Dinesh Sudarshan Soi is coming up with Bombay Cafe, a satire comedy. His next feature film, Dhaula Kuan, is scheduled to begin principal photography in April 2026.
Before establishing himself as a director, Dinesh earned widespread acclaim as one of the busiest casting directors in the world. He holds records in both the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records for casting the maximum number of projects. His contributions were further recognized on a global scale when he became the only Indian director to receive the IMDb Top Contributor Trophy, personally awarded by IMDb CEO Col Needham.
In addition to his creative endeavors, Dinesh is an entrepreneur and founder of DS Creations, a multifaceted brand comprising DS Creations Mart (online shopping site), DS Creations Entertainment (production house), DS Creations Music (music label), DS Creations Movies (movie channel), DS Creations Casting (casting and celebrity management), DS Creations News (online news network) and DS Creations Marketing (movie marketing and personal PR).
Dinesh also serves as the National Working President of BJP's Cinema & TV association, Shree Bhartiya Janta TV & Cine Kaamgar Sangh, an influential body under the world's largest political party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
On the personal front, Dinesh is married to Sonia Malhotra Soi, a creative director and singer who plays an integral role in managing DS Creations. Their daughter, Maesha Soi, is already stepping into the limelight, continuing the family's artistic legacy.
