Biografi
Kacy Andrews has been engaged in the entertainment industry for over 20 years, with experience spanning feature films, television series, theater, and animation. She has worked internationally and was featured in People Asia Magazine's 2006 People of the Year issue.
She spent nine years in production and project development at Los Angeles-based Hyperion Studio, including serving as one of the Producers on Miramax's Playing By Heart, starring Sean Connery, Gena Rowlands, and Angelina Jolie. Her work at Hyperion also includes the feature film Tom's Midnight Garden with Joan Plowright; the children's TV series BoneChillers for ABC featuring Linda Cardellini; and numerous animated projects such as FOX's Life With Louie with Louie Anderson; HBO's Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child featuring Denzel Washington and Whoopi Goldberg; and Paramount Pictures' The Oz Kids with Jonathan Taylor Thomas.
After Hyperion, Kacy served as Vice President of Development at Blue Focus Management, working on projects for MGM, Disney, and Sony. She then explored the dotcom and software sectors at Creative Planet and Entertainment Partners.
In 2003, her consulting work at Bigfoot Productions led to the founding of Bigfoot Entertainment and the International Academy of Film and Television. As CEO and co-founder, she has overseen the establishment and growth of the studio and film school in Cebu, Philippines, with additional offices and campuses in Hong Kong and Los Angeles. The company has expanded to employ over 300 local and international staff.
In recent years, Bigfoot Entertainment has financed several feature films, including Shanghai Kiss starring Hayden Panettiere, East Broadway featuring Margaret Cho, and 3 Needles with Lucy Liu, Olympia Dukakis, and Sandra Oh.
During her time at Bigfoot, Kacy has acted as Producer and Executive Producer on feature films such as Deep Gold, The Curiosity of Chance, Irreversi starring Estella Warren, Hui Lui, Within, Girl With No Number, and Midnight Movie. She has also produced documentaries like 9000 Needles and USS Cooper, as well as the reality series Hollywood Boot Camp. These projects have been filmed in locations including Belgium, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Los Angeles. Recently, she has focused on launching Bigfoot Ascendant Distribution, which will handle foreign and domestic sales for all Bigfoot's internally produced and acquired content.
Kacy is a David Letterman Internship recipient and graduated Cum Laude from Ball State University, with further studies at the American Film Institute. In 2000, she was honored as Ball State University's Graduate of the Last Decade and has more recently received the Distinguished Alumni Award. Based in Los Angeles, she remains actively involved with organizations such as Women in Film, Step-Up, and Big Sisters/Big Brothers of Los Angeles. She currently serves on the Board of Governors of the Bigfoot Asia Pacific Foundation.
