Biografi
Ómar Örn Hauksson was born in Reykjavik, Iceland, in 1975. He grew up in the Breiðholt suburb, where he attended both primary and secondary school. A lifelong fan of TV and movies, he preferred staying indoors reading comics, drawing, and watching television over playing sports. During high school, he connected with musicians and began experimenting with death metal, forming the band Den Danske Død (The Danish Dead) with friends. Later, he transitioned to hip hop, joining the band Quarashi a few years afterward.
While touring across the United States, he collaborated with numerous talented artists, including DJ Muggs from Cypress Hill and Len Wiseman, known for Underworld and Die Hard 4, who directed their first major music video. Quarashi performed alongside acts such as Eminem, Guns N' Roses, Weezer, N.E.R.D., The Used, and Lostprophets, and opened for 50 Cent and The Prodigy. Following moderate success in the U.S. and Japan, the band gradually disbanded, officially splitting in 2005.
During this period, Ómar hosted a weekly music show, wrote film articles for local newspapers, and in 2006, was cast as Uri in the Smirnoff Ice commercials. Concurrently, he studied at the Iceland Academy of the Arts, earning a B.A. in Graphic Design in 2007. He has also worked as a screenwriter for Zik Zak Filmworks and is primarily a designer specializing in movie posters.
