Biografi
Beyer was raised in the rural town of Grass Valley, Northern California, before relocating to Southern California in 1989 to follow his aspirations. He quickly found work as an actor in touring children's theatre. Afterwards, he held various odd jobs both inside and outside the entertainment industry. In 2000, he founded his production company, Eye Scream Films, which produced several award-winning projects, including the Callous Sentiment segment of the feature Visions of Horror, earning him accolades for editing and sound design. His feature film writing and directorial debut came in 2005 with the intense drama Down the P.C.H. (2006), starring Guillermo Diaz, Elaine Hendrix, and Lin Shaye, which secured worldwide distribution despite being made on a budget of only $40,000. His second film, Resurrection Mary (2007), featuring Golden Globe winner Sally Kirkland and character actor Richard Riehle, is based on the well-known Chicago urban legend and is also available internationally. Beyer handled editorial duties and produced the behind-the-scenes featurette for the campy thriller The Telling (2009), starring Bridget Marquardt and Holly Madison, famous from Playboy's Girls Next Door, and secured distribution through Sony Pictures. He contributed to the post sound department for the Sundance hit Bellflower (2011) and recently completed production as producer of the dramatic horror film Citrus Springs (2016), co-produced and cast by Valerie McCaffrey. They will collaborate again on their third producer-director project, the adventurous romantic comedy Poor Paul (2023), based on the popular web series of the same name. Beyer continues to take on multiple roles both behind and occasionally in front of the camera, as well as in the editing room, with a primary focus on directing.
